Holly Pease, Board President
Holly and her 3 children worked as volunteers for Home & Hope prior to Holly joining the board in 2017. She brings with her over 25 years of technical and management experience from organizations such as AT&T, Visa and Google. Holly retired in 2016. In addition to giving her time to Home & Hope, she shuttles her teenage daughters around town.
Having witnessed the impact Home & Hope has had on San Mateo County’s homeless families, Holly brings passion to her work on the board. In addition to serving as Secretary, Holly works on parish outreach and communication.
Peter Meredith,Vice President
Peter has worked with Home & Hope since 2019. He helps nonprofits increase their impact with experience in fundraising, marketing, design, and copywriting. Has has worked as the Executive Director of College Heights Congregational Church, the Director of Business Development and Digital Strategy at Mother Jones magazine, and in digital marketing positions for several other nonprofits. His current and past clients include the Sierra Club, Gantri, Yes Magazine, Berkeleyside, Washington Monthly, Unistellar, AllBusiness, the Gorilla Foundation, CREDO Mobile, and others.
Mark Brown, Treasurer
Mark’s interest in and compassion for the most vulnerable members of our community is very strong. He joined the board in June 2018 and simply wants to be a valuable asset to Home and Hope, helping families regain their self-sufficiency. He is committed to making a difference in our community.
Mark has a 33-year background in finance and accounting in multiple high-tech companies in the Bay Area. His business background includes expertise in cost management, financial planning and analysis, investment analysis, product pricing, capital and inventory management, internal audit, and a variety of accounting assignments, including multiple controllerships. He was born in Redwood City and is now in his seventh decade as a resident in the Bay Area. He hopes his business background and passion for helping the community will move us collectively in a positive direction for the future.
Rick Holbrook, Secretary
Rick is the president and founder of Holbrook Global Strategies, a leading investment advisory firm serving individuals and families and based in Palo Alto. He was honored by Worth magazine as one of the Top 250 Wealth Advisors in America. Rick received his MBA from Stanford University, and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, earning the distinction of Magna Cum Laude with Honors.
John Poole, MS PhD
Since Home & Hope began in 2001, John has been a steady presence, volunteering at our host sites and fund raisers. He is a licensed clinical psychologist who brings 45 years of experience in
program development, healthcare, teaching, and research. John has specialized in diagnosis and treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions, trauma recovery, and teaches meditation and resiliency skills. He recently retired from the Veterans Healthcare system after serving military veterans for over 20 years. John has extensive experience with grant writing, program evaluation, and publication; he has co-authored over 40 journal articles and 100 presentations at conferences and workshops. He teaches at Congregation Beth Jacob, whom he represents in the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition, and is active in interfaith education and community building.
