Holly PeaseHolly Pease, Board President

Holly and her 3 children worked as volunteers for Home & Hope prior to Holly joining the board in 2017.  She brings with her over 25 years of technical and management experience from organizations such as AT&T, Visa and Google.  Holly retired in 2016.  In addition to giving her time to Home & Hope, she shuttles her teenage daughters around town.

Having witnessed the impact Home & Hope has had on San Mateo County’s homeless families, Holly brings passion to her work on the board.  In addition to serving as Secretary, Holly works on parish outreach and communication.

John PooleJohn Poole

Since Home & Hope began in 2001, John has been a steady presence, volunteering at our host sites and fund raisers. He is a licensed clinical psychologist who brings 45 years of experience in
program development, healthcare, teaching, and research. John has specialized in diagnosis and treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions, trauma recovery, and teaches meditation and resiliency skills. He recently retired from the Veterans Healthcare system after serving military veterans for over 20 years. John has extensive experience with grant writing, program evaluation, and publication; he has co-authored over 40 journal articles and 100 presentations at conferences and workshops. He teaches at Congregation Beth Jacob, whom he represents in the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition, and is active in interfaith education and community building.

Sarah CopelandSarah Copeland

Sarah Copeland joined Home & Hope in March 2013. She is a recovering attorney, and currently works in financial planning and portfolio management at Wetherby Asset Management in San Francisco. A Southerner by birth, she feels very lucky to be able to contribute to the betterment of the Bay Area, her adopted home, via her work with Home & Hope.

Sarah holds a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, and earned a BS in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. She is a member of the Northern California Planned Giving Council.

Rick HolbrookRick Holbrook

Rick is the president and founder of Holbrook Global Strategies, a leading investment advisory firm serving individuals and families and based in Palo Alto. He was honored by Worth magazine as one of the Top 250 Wealth Advisors in America. Rick received his MBA from Stanford University, and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, earning the distinction of Magna Cum Laude with Honors.

Debbie GrewalDebbie Grewal

A San Francisco Peninsula native, Debbie is very familiar with the distinctive characteristics of our local communities where she has served and volunteered in leadership positions for the past 20 years. Roles include board positions on the Burlingame Library Foundation, the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce, and Sacred Heart Schools.

​Debbie is a dedicated realtor associated with Alain Pinel Realtors in Burlingame. Prior to her real estate career she spent over 20 years as an interior designer working on both commercial and residential projects. She served as president of the Burlingame Community for Education and Burlingame Intermediate School PTA. She created the Interfaith Choral Concert five years ago which brings together the musical talents of six local churches and benefits Home & Hope.

Mark BrownMark Brown

Mark’s interest in and compassion for the most vulnerable members of our community is very strong. He joined the board in June 2018 and simply wants to be a valuable asset to Home and Hope, helping families regain their self-sufficiency. He is committed to making a difference in our community.

Mark has a 33-year background in finance and accounting in multiple high-tech companies in the Bay Area. His business background includes expertise in cost management, financial planning and analysis, investment analysis, product pricing, capital and inventory management, internal audit, and a variety of accounting assignments, including multiple controllerships. He was born in Redwood City and is now in his seventh decade as a resident in the Bay Area. He hopes his business background and passion for helping the community will move us collectively in a positive direction for the future.

Olga PooleOlga Poole

Olga grew up in Puerto Rico and has lived in the Bay Area since 1992. She recently retired from Stanford University after 24 years where she was a Stewardship Officer responsible for the administration of scholarships. The most rewarding part of her job was getting to know students from all backgrounds and watching them grow to be the leaders of our future. As a volunteer, Olga has worked for Home and Hope since it started in San Mateo County in  2001. She currently serves as coordinator at Congregation Beth Jacob in Redwood City along with her husband, John.

Lisa StriebingLisa Striebing, Board President Emeritus

Lisa had been involved with Home & Hope as an overnight volunteer for many years before joining the board in 2008. She also currently sits on the board of Episcopal Charities of the San Francisco Bay Area.

To her community work she brings the benefits of her post graduate studies at California Institute of Integral Studies and The Graduate Theological Union, her work with Marshall Rosenberg’s Center for Non Violent Communication, along with her Harvard Law School degree.

Lisa resides in Burlingame, where she practices tax consulting.

Jacki SilberJacki Silber

Jacki is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 30 years of experience. Since 2001, she has been in private practice in Belmont and Redwood City, specializing in helping individuals, families, and couples with anxiety, mood, perinatal transition, trauma, and grief. Previously, she worked for social service agencies and hospitals including Belmont Hills Hospital, Eastfield Ming Quong, and Pathway Society. She developed, implemented, and coordinated programs for inpatient and day-treatment counseling for children, adolescents, and their families.Jacki was born in Redwood City and has been a lifelong member of  Congregation Beth Jacob, a Home & Hope host synagogue. She has enjoyed volunteering most of her life, most recently assisting at a new parents’ support group at Sequoia Hospital and with her daughter at Home & Hope.
